Spring officially arrives this month and symbolically it represents change, rebirth, renewal and growth. The Toronto AMA has  got a lot to celebrate with new members, volunteers, and board and advisory leaders sharing their expertise and an array of events, awards and recognition.

Celebrate International Women’s Day Every Day

Though we formally recognize the contributions women make to the world in March, AMA Toronto benefits from the extraordinary energy and leadership from the many women in the organization all year long. We’re proud to offer members a special virtual presentation from a marketing expert who solved one of life’s universal challenges (how to feed a family with healthy options) and built a business at the same time. Join us on Wednesday, March 30th at 5.30PM EST, as Richa Gupta shares her journey to success, while discussing the importance of ethical marketing practices and their benefits to both her business and the community.

Recognizing the Very Best

Knowledge is power and AMA Toronto has the connections to some of the best minds in the business. Members have an exclusive opportunity to learn from Legendary Leaders at our April 6, 2022 event. The newest legends inductees include Bryan Pearson, Rem Langan and Sharifa Khan who will be discussing what it takes to be the first in their respective industries and how they transformed their businesses. There will also be an opportunity for interactive breakout sessions on the subject of Marketing Leadership and Career Development, allowing the audience to ask questions to all speakers. This is an event you won’t want to miss! Register today.

One of the most exciting events AMA Toronto hosts is  Canada’s Marketers Hall of Legends (CMHOL) where we recognize the Marketing Legends who have dedicated their professional lives to pursuing excellence in marketing, and has become one of the country’s most respected industry awards.   AMA Toronto is thrilled to celebrate Canada’s newest Marketing Hall of Legends inductees at our upcoming in person Gala on May 12, 2022. We are incredibly grateful  and excited to have Mission Hill as our Chapter Sponsor for this event. Attendees will be taking home two bottles of their award-winning wines! Mission Hill founder Anthony Von Mandl is also one of our past legends so it is only fitting they want to support our event.

Speaking of Mission Hill, this Kelowna, BC based winery is Canada’s only five-time “Winery of the Year” title winner. Family-owned, this landmark winery organically farms 100% of its own grapes on its own vineyard estates.  AMA Toronto is happy to pass on two opportunities to work with this extraordinary company and hope our members explore these job openings with them. The winery is currently recruiting for two key positions within the collective’s overall Marketing team,  a Senior Brand Manager, and an Estate Brand Manager. Visit their website for more details.

Mentorship Opportunities Accelerate

AMA Toronto’s Career Accelerator mentorship program helps young marketing professionals further their career with the help of an experienced marketing professional. AMA Toronto’s mentorship programs are sponsored by Scotiabank and have helped catapult many marketers to the next stage in their careers. The Career Accelerator program was inspired by the success of the Mentor Exchange program, and is specifically designed to meet the needs of junior marketing professionals looking to move up the ladder in their careers. The mentorship program runs from April to January of each year. Although the application process has officially closed, there are a few spots left.

For those members who still want in on this, email AMA Toronto’s Craig Lund directly at [email protected], who has just been recognized for his hard work and extraordinary talent by the Ama Foundation as the recipient of the 2022 Ric Sweeney Chapter Volunteer of the Year Award – only one such award amongst all 70+ AMA Chapters. This is the first time a Canadian chapter leader wins the award. Last year, Craig finished in the top three and got an honourable mention, and this year, he is the uncontested winner!

Partnerships expand opportunities and AMA Toronto has a long-standing relationship with the Schulich Executive Education Centre (SEEC) which offers programming that can increase skills and knowledge. From webinars to certifications, SEEC is a well-respected organization within the marketing and education communities. For those who want to increase their leadership skills, check out the Masters of Leadership Certificate being offered through SEEC and learn from the best. AMA members receive a 10% discount on select executive and Master’s Certificate programs.

There are so many ways to inspire and empower future leaders and AMA Toronto is excited to share a new educational workshop on marketing innovation and latest retail media trends with one of the biggest retailers in the world, to help marketers stay on the cutting edge of marketing trends and innovation. Stay tuned for upcoming details and join us in April as we kick off this three part educational content series.

Brene Brings It to Nurture Future Leaders

Leading the AMA Toronto chapter is both an honour and a privilege and I’m inspired daily by the AMAzing leaders that surround me and intrigued by experts in the field of leadership.  I’m a huge fan of author, psychologist and researcher Brene Brown and couldn’t be more excited about her newest book, “Atlas of the Heart”. Her honest, sometimes gut-wrenching insights have helped so many people take a look at their behavior and how they can lead with more integrity, honor, equity and kindness. There is so much to learn  and knowledge to share on the leadership journey.

Next month marks AMA’s annual Leadership Summit happening in Chicago this year, and it will no doubt be an exciting forum to celebrate AMA Toronto’s Silver Chapter Excellence Award recognition internationally with fellow chapter leaders across North America, but definitely an event that we all look forward to, supporting and empowering leadership potential.

Grateful to be part of an essential community of marketers. Thanks for being part of this journey with me.

Cheers,

Tina
