VP, Events

Position Objectives: 

Are you a creative and disciplined business professional with a history of at least 10 years of successful event management and a database of connections? Can you develop an event vision then ensure your volunteer team delivers high impact and engaging experiences both in-person and virtually? Do you thrive under pressure, juggle priorities successfully and treat small budgets as an opportunity? Do you have the collaborative and leadership skills to be a successful hands-on board member and work effectively and efficiently with other AMA teams and our industry partners?

AMA Toronto is looking for a seasoned professional and dynamic volunteer to lead our important and high profile Events team. The right person will work with our teams to organize and implement the high quality learning and networking events we have planned for our community and set strategic direction for the future. As our VP Events, you will be a leader in our organization with great opportunities to build your profile and network in Toronto’s business community while working with a fun group of dedicated volunteers!

Your responsibilities would include:

  • Developing and successfully delivering the Event team strategy.
  • Overseeing the Events team in the planning of both in-person and virtual events.
  • Recruiting, motivating and directing a team of directors, managers and coordinators to flawlessly implement events on time and on budget.
  • Collaborating with other AMA volunteers both from the event team and other teams such as Communications, Partnership and Sponsorship as needed.
