Behind the Scenes: AMA Volunteers at Work and Play
Volunteering at AMA Toronto can be a rewarding experience in so many ways. Our volunteers run the equivalent of a small business so we have a myriad of opportunities to build our skills and develop our leadership potential. And yes, we also try to have fun along the way. Here’s a sample of some recent volunteer experiences.
Leadership Excellence Team Offsite Planning Session
Craig Lund and his team of Jagriti Malhotra, Lindsay Tohana, Maggie Bolt and Victoria Bomben run our Leadership Excellence programs: Career Accelerator mentoring, Mentor Exchange and Executive Coaching. Recently they met for weekend brunch and then brainstormed ideas for these programs. Good food, good ideas and some fun along the way.
Volunteer Holiday Celebration Event
AMA Toronto’s board executive team meets quarterly with our volunteer Advisory Council comprised of senior industry leaders. On November 28th, after our meeting, our Co-chair Arthur Fleischmann, hosted a welcoming event for AMA volunteers to meet the Advisory Council at the WPP offices. Barbara Boyd and I worked with Arthur’s team (Adelle Taylor, Ingrid Chartier and Katherine Sherrard to organize a fun get-together with food, wine and lots of conversation. Many thanks to our on-site volunteers: Akshat Gupta, Amanda Song, Ankit raj Aswathi and Tarik El Assal.
November Rockstars
This month we’d like to highlight the achievements of three high impact volunteers Noha Diab, Prerana Dandge and Siddhanth Dhingra. Thank you for your passion and commitment!
Noha Diab
Director CMHOL (Canada’s Marketing Hall of Legends)
Since Noha joined AMA Toronto in 2021, she has been an outstanding volunteer both in digital marketing for the Marcom team and since April 2022 on the CMHOL team. Noha brings her skills but also a smile and a willingness to pitch in for any task. Whether it’s helping plan and execute a campaign or event or even assembling on-site signage, Noha’s positive roll up her sleeves attitude is an asset to our community.
Noha is currently a Digital Marketing Specialist for Context Creative. She has an MBA in marketing.
Prerana Dandge
Social Media Director Marcom
Prerana joined the Marcom team in September as Social Media Director and has been a rockstar from day one! She’s actively taken control of our social media process with the team, jumping to the rescue on many occasions. Prerana has demonstrated initiative on multiple levels and has already proposed direction for revamping the Social Media team operational processes and workflows. She is a valuable member of AMA Toronto and we’re lucky to have her on the Marcom team!
Prerana has an MBA in Marketing and is the Head of Digital Marketing – Marketplace & Fintech for the PROPERTYGURU GROUP.
Siddhant Dhingra
Nominee Research Manager CMHOL (Canada’s Marketing Hall of Legends)
Sid joined the CMHOL team in October to assist the judging process for this year by helping research and compile background information on our legends nominees. However, he’s also quickly made his mark by raising his hand to help with our events. He’s provided valuable on-site support for both our November and December events and has demonstrated a great ability to successfully address any task. Sid is off to a great start. Sid is currently an Industry Support Officer at Humber College. He has more than 5 years business experience and a B Comm in marketing. Since moving to Canada he’s also acquired certification from Humber in Project Management and from Seneca in Brand Management
