Celebrating Canada’s Next Generation of Influential Marketing Leaders

About Marketer-on-the-Rise

In 2012, Marketer-on-the-Rise was introduced as a category to identify marketers who are the leaders of tomorrow in the marketing profession. The award was created to recognize Canada’s up-and-coming marketers making their name as entrepreneurs, innovators, disruptors and digital influencers.

Tyler & Braden Handley

Tyler Handley is a Canadian entrepreneur and visionary best known for co-founding Inkbox, a trailblazing temporary tattoo brand that redefined the intersection of art and self-expression. Under Tyler’s leadership, Inkbox experienced exponential growth, leveraging their innovative, semi-permanent tattoo technology to cater to a diverse, global community seeking to express themselves without the permanence of traditional tattoos. His strategic foresight and dedication to the brand’s mission culminated in the significant acquisition of Inkbox by BIC for $80 Million (CAD) in 2022. Beyond his entrepreneurial endeavors, Tyler harbors passions for astronomy,  fashion, and racing cars.

In the seven years since co-founding temporary tattoo company Inkbox with his brother, Braden Handley (Entrepreneurship ‘12) has appeared on CBC’s Dragons Den and was included in Forbes 30 under 30 (Retail & Ecommerce, 2019). Under his leadership, Inkbox has grown to over 180 employees and generated over US $100 million in sales. Their signature two-week lasting tattoos have been on hit shows, including Stranger Things and FX’s The Bear. To top it off, BIC closed a deal to purchase Inkbox for US$65 million in 2022.
