2022 is here already and AMA Toronto is off to a roaring start, beginning with National Mentorship Month, a celebration of the life and career changing exchange between leaders and future leaders. AMA Toronto is proud to showcase the mentorship program we have created, which has made us the “gold standard” for such programming in the marketing industry.
We have blogs, videos and other helpful resources to share on mentorship and much more, so be sure to check them out and put them to good use.

Celebrating All Things Mentoring

For National Mentorship Month our own Craig Lund, Secretary and VP of Mentorship has put together some exciting events and programming. First on the agenda is our Mentorship MNG event featuring Alan Middleton, Author of Mentorship Matters. Tune in January 26 for this informative virtual event where Alan discusses how, in a post-pandemic world where work-life balance is on the table, there is a need for mentorship as a way to humanize work relationships and improve organizational performance. This will be followed by peer-to-peer speed mentoring, giving attendees an opportunity to meet and share insights with others.

Not only does AMA Toronto provide insights from our own community, we also offer informative content from the international marketing community as well. Also being held on January 26, marketing leader Dave Edelman will talk about the AI Revolution, and how it is changing the marketing landscape. Reserve a spot for this eye-opening talk on the future of artificial intelligence and marketing.

AMA Toronto prides itself on continuing to grow and expand its offerings to all communities, including newcomers. Our brilliant volunteer Elvina Bulatova shares tips on how to restart a marketing career in Canada and contributes ideas and content on ways for new immigrants can engage in the marketing world and make inroads to landing a job that makes works for them.

There are always opportunities with AMA Toronto’s mentorship programming to be both a mentee and a mentor, an outstanding opportunity to increase your skills and knowledge. Consider sharing your knowledge and skills with others by joining our mentorship program.

Prestigious Insights

One of the most exciting events coming up is our Leadership MNG Event with Zach Mercurio – renowned author and Simon Sinek speaker along with leaders from iconic Canadian Menswear brand Harry Rosen on Feb 23, where they will discuss authentic and purpose driven leadership, its importance, as well as the impact on brands and successful organizations. Save the date and join us – it’s an event not to miss!

Empowering Leadership Potential by Giving Back

Coming up, we also feature another Leadership Conversation with Salah Bachir, entrepreneur, activist and philanthropist about his leadership journey and why giving is the best measure of success. These leaders in our community continue to be a wellspring of enlightenment and we continue to share this with you to help empower leadership potential. Stay tuned for more in 2022.

Legends Among Us

The call for nominations for AMA Toronto’s 2022 Marketing Hall of Legends closed last week and we are excited to bring together an esteemed jury this year, co-chaired by Nancy Marcus who will select our Legends for 2022. Stay tuned for more on the winners in March.

On February 9th, join us as we celebrate Marketing Hall of Legends winner Judy John – Global Chief Creative Officer of Edelman, the world’s largest communications firm, as she discusses the key elements of being creative.  Before joining Edelman, she was at Leo Burnett where she served as Chief Creative Officer for North America and CEO for Canada. Judy has been recognized globally, winning numerous awards and is known as the driving force behind the Always #LikeAGirl campaign which went on to win the Emmy for Outstanding Commercial, Black Pencil at D&AD, Titanium, Grand Prix and Glass Lion at Cannes, and was named by CBS as one of the top three Super Bowl Commercials of all time.
