FIVE FINALISTS ANNOUNCED FOR ‘MARKETER ON THE RISE’ AWARD

TORONTO – (Feb. 15, 2017) – Who are Canada’s up-and-coming young marketers making their name as entrepreneurs, innovators, disruptors and digital influencers? The Toronto Chapter of the AMA is one step closer to helping Canadians find out as it announces the top 5 finalists for its fifth annual Globe Media Group ‘Marketer on the Rise’ award.

THE MARKETER ON THE RISE NOMINEES ARE:

Jeremy Miller – President of Sticky Branding

Simon Cazelais – President of BlueBlancoruge

Emily Lyons – Founder & CEO of Femme Fatale Media Group

John Celenza – Co-founder & CEO, BioSteel Sports Nutrition Inc. 

Rebecca Basi – Director of Marketing at Plastic Mobile

 

One award winner will be chosen by the judging committee and announced at the AMA Toronto’s Marketing Hall of Legends annual gala event on March 3, 2017 at 7 pm at Toronto’s historic Arcadian Court, 401 Bay St., Toronto.

“We had over 30 amazing candidates nominated, ranging from entrepreneurs, brand managers and marketing professionals on both client and agency side,” says Xzavier Ramphal, co-director of the Marketing Hall of Legends. “It was challenging for the judging committee, made up of some of the country’s most-respected senior marketers, to narrow it down to just five. Only one will win the award but we appreciate the turnout of such exceptional candidates.”

These nominees represent the next generation of inspiring innovators who are making waves with original thinking, innovative ideas and ground-breaking strategies that are already earning them significant attention and results on Canada’s fast-paced marketing scene. 

The March gala will also feature the presentation of the Marketing Hall of Legends 2016 inductees: Arthur Fleischmann, president and co-founder of award-winning agency john st.; Arkadi Kuhlmann, founder of ING DIRECT Canada; Richard Peddie, former president and CEO of Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment and former CEO of the Toronto Raptors; and Bob Peter, former president and CEO of the LCBO and former president of The Bay.
