Behind the Scenes: Launching AMA Toronto’s Fall Activities
September and October are busy months for AMA Toronto. After a summer focussing mostly on planning, we start launching our next round of events and programs. This year that included kicking off our Legendary Leadership Events Series with 2021 legends Arran and Ratana Stephens, the Founders of Nature’s Path Foods. These visionary business leaders inspired us with their stories as pioneers in the organic food movement.
AMA Toronto joined AMA chapters from across North America to share the stories of some of our volunteers during AMA’s Marketing Week. Thanks to our volunteers who participated and the Marcom team for their efforts compiling these stories.
We took some new steps when we launched our 12th year of Mentor Exchange with a new Executive Coaching program and by publishing an AMA-supported book, “Mentorship Matters” (available through Amazon). This book was authored by one of Canada’s Marketing Hall of Legends inductees and a long-term AMA mentor, Dr. Alan Middleton. Volunteers Craig Lund and Miglena Nikolova worked with Alan for our first foray into the publishing world.
These are just some of the notable achievements and impact of dedicated and passionate AMA Toronto volunteers who work behind the scenes to bring value to Toronto’s marketing community.
Meet our October Rockstars
Our October Rockstars are three talented volunteers who have helped get this Fall’s programs off to a great start. Thank you Jessica, Katelin and Shreya for your important contributions!
Jessica Waslenko: Manager Events
Jessica has been a great addition to the Events team. She contributed greatly to the success of the Legendary Leadership Series event in September with Arran and Ratana Stephens, the Founders of Nature’s Path Foods.
Jessica graduated from Schulich with a Bachelor of Business Administration in 2021 and joined the graduate leadership training program at Maple Leaf Foods. Jessica is also an entrepreneur with a flair for baking who founded Mad Batter Cupcakes and Cakes.
Katelin Richards: Coordinator Events
Katelin is also an important contributor to the Events team. Her projects have included our Canada’s Marketing Hall of Legends gala event in March and most recently the Legendary Leadership Series event in September.
Katelin is a creative communications coordinator, marketing and administrative professional with a BA in English and Theatre from University of Ottawa and an Advanced diploma in Theatre Performance from Humber College.
Shreya Parashar: Director Content
Since joining our MarCom team, Shreya has created a Content Plan that aligns with our chapter’s new brand positioning and strategic plan. To support AMA Marketing Week, Shreya collected personal stories and photos from our volunteers to share on LinkedIn. Shreya also wrote a blog to summarize the wisdom shared in our September Legendary Leadership Series event.
Shreya is the Founder and Content Architect for Culture Opus and has an MBA degree in brand and media management.
