Well the new year is officially off to the races. And our volunteers came together for some networking and planning.

January 18th: AMA Toronto volunteers meet online

Our January virtual volunteer-only event was successfully led by AVP Volunteers Louise Taylor and Director Volunteers Shelley Hull. More than 30 volunteers met online for some “get to know you” break-out groups and to collaborate on some ideas for the volunteer community.

President Santo Ligotti gave a chapter update, VP Volunteers Debbie Bolton gave some background on how to get more from your volunteer experience. Louise and Shelley facilitated the session and the discussion. Well done everyone.

January 21st: Mid-Year Strategic Planning Session

President Santo Ligotti brought together many of AMA Toronto’s volunteer leaders for a planning session on Sunday January 21. The session started with a very interesting team building session led by AVP Volunteers Louise Taylor. Louise facilitated a session of the “Fascinate” approach to help us better understand our optimal approach to communications. The discussion provided some insights into our personal archetypes and communications advantages but also those of our colleagues. Very interesting and useful.

The group then discussed opportunities regarding a number of topics: volunteer team management, membership, communications and AMA’s longer term vision. Overall a very good session fuelled by lots of food.

AMAzing Rockstars

AMA Toronto has many volunteers that go above and beyond to help our chapter and the marketing community. This month we celebrate 3 Managers from the Canada’s Marketing Hall of Legends team who provided invaluable support to VP Jacob Kessler by organizing and preparing materials for the Jury Day evaluation of nominees for our next group of Legends.

Ben Hudson and Soumya Ganesh: Managers of Canada’s Marketing Hall of Legends (CMHOL)

Ben and Soumya have made their mark since joining the CMHOL team in the fall. They have made invaluable contributions to the Legends Program. They organized research on 140+ nominees, also personally conducted some of the research and handled the updates to the Legends Program platform on the AMA website.

Ben Hudson

Ben has an Honours BA in Communications and a minor in Psychology from Wilfred Laurier. He has completed internships with KPMG in Global Digital Marketing and as a Brand Specialist.

Soumya Ganesh

Tam Nguyen -
Manager Canada’s Marketing Hall of Legends

Tam Nguyen researched many of the CMHOL nominees with exemplary speed and discipline. She was also deeply supportive to the score counting process and final preparations for Jury Day, preparing materials for a successful and smooth event. In her other role as the lead on the upcoming Legends Gala program guide and Legends educational publication, she has shown impressive project management and creative talents in her design layouts and well-organized plans.
Tam has more than 12 years experience in account management, brand management and growth marketing in Vietnam.
